My first attempt at making a fruit tart

I found the following recipe on The Hungry Mouse. However, I didn’t have all of the ingredients, so I made a couple modifications. It turned out great, the filling was delicious and my family loved it, except for the use of fillo dough. I haven’t tried it, but I would recommend using a puff pastry.

Strawberry Brunch Tart with Thyme and Black Pepper
1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed (I used fillo dough, don’t recommend)
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. ground cardamom (I used cinnamon)
1 lb. fresh strawberries, sliced (I used a Great Value frozen berry mix)
3 Tbls. apricot jam (I used strawberry jam)
1 tsp. fresh thyme leaves (I used dried thyme)
cracked black pepper
